Helping Our Friends at Metis Child and Family Service

On December 23 we were able to feed and celebrate Christmas with 175 vulnerable moms and their kids who look to the agency for support throughout the year.

We cooked turkeys and ham, and the whole church had the best kitchen party. – 30 kids and their parents peeled, cooked and mashed 80 pounds of potatoes. We all got involved in helping make the season special for our friends in the SNUG program.

Metis Child and Family Services Objectives:

To improve the quality and effectiveness of social services to Aboriginal Children and families in need.

To develop and provide programs that will preserve and strengthen the Aboriginal families.

A primary focus of Métis Child & Family Services Society is to reduce the number of Métis and other Aboriginal children from coming into the care of Alberta Child and Youth Services.
